Hey {{first_name}}
It’s your friendly neighborhood Taurus rising, writing you on the Taurus new moon. The Moon joins the Sun and Mercury in the third decan of Taurus after spending several days besieged between Saturn and Mars. After frustration and anger emerge as consequences for emotional impulsivity, something breaks free from the body, a certain surrender and a readiness for the new.
The card corresponding to this lunation is the Seven of Pentacles:

The Bull is Contemplative
After rupture, repair and redemption comes by working the land, by giving the land back, by redistributing power to those who are from the land. Concerns this card, this decan. From Red Tarot on the Seven of Pentacles:
“Standing in the Seven of Pentacles is yet another vigilant figure. Sleeplessly watchful, they tend to the harvest of the earth, the body's creative fruition, the good thing growing. The figure is in a state of contemplation, implying critique. The shape it will take is amorphous, so the card reflects a need to defend representations, images, and understandings from and by the oppressed from being continuously devalued. Otherwise, like the Seven of Pentacles figure, we will question whether our toil is futile. Each of the Sevens, in their own way, takes a stand. Everyone wants to live the fast life, but the Seven of Pentacles goes against the capitalist pressure to work quickly, to blossom when everyone else does, or that says you should do these things lest you risk never really arriving.”
Without prayer, mantra and meditation, I would not survive the obstacles within and without.
Today, Saturday May 16th, I offered a communal divination, The Spring Solarium, and the cards spoke to alternative communal spaces, spaces beyond the bounds of propertied male ownership, spaces where we regard our erotic autonomy and do magical workings to secure our material wellbeing without shame.
Then Monday the 17th, as Mars went into Taurus and Venus into Cancer, my students presented on the Taurus decans. We spoke of feminist autotheory, female refugee experiences, loss and lack, as well as constellatory transcorporeality. We spoke of the House of Spirits, the evil eye turned toward men who assault the cuerpo-territorio and breaking up parking lots to let creeks come once more. Clarified and emergent fractal articulations of divination are ripening and I am so inspired and proud of these committed students.
Thank you to those who registered and my darling student who joined live. The Spring Solarium is a quarterly offering for upgraded subscribers, who can catch the playback (coming as soon as the video processes!), either as a Page ($6/mo) or as a Vault member ($33/mo). If you sign up for the Vault, you’ll get weekly video lessons delivered right to your inbox, get an exclusive library of texts on divination, decolonization and gender / feminism, as well as monthly meetings.
In fact we will be meeting next Saturday to discuss Octavia Butler’s rules for predicting the future and the Lineages of Change tarot inspired by her amazing legacy.
Also this is the LAST CALL for Thresholds. We start this Wednesday, May 20th. This is the 11th go round and likely the only run I’ll do this year, so join while you can! This is my corner-stone intensive class and is beloved by students. If you are seeking to study through a decolonial, intersectional lens this is the divination course for you ❤️🔥
As a lil bonus for everyone though, here is a three-card Taurus spread for you (taken from my decan course, TENZ) 🐂

If you'd like to dive deeper into any of the topics we discussed during the collective divination, we can schedule a 1-on-1 divination.
Thanks again,
Christopher
